Outdoor GPS Tracking with BKWAT
Heading out for a run, a hike or a ride? GPS records your route, distance and pace. BKWAT offers two ways to get it: watches with GPS built in, and devices that use your phone’s GPS.
Built-in GPS or connected GPS?
| How it works | Best for | |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in GPS | The watch receives satellite signals itself, so you can leave your phone at home. | Runners, hikers and cyclists who want to travel light |
| Connected GPS | The device uses your phone’s GPS through the app, so you carry your phone during the workout. | People who always have their phone with them |
GPS smartwatches
All four have built-in GPS, 170+ sport modes and 5ATM water resistance. The DM59, DM56 and DM76 use dual-band (L1 + L5) GPS; the DM58 uses single-band (L1) GPS.
| Model | Price | Why choose it |

Tips for outdoor tracking
- Wait for the GPS signal before you start: stand still in an open area for a moment until the watch shows it is ready.
- Download offline maps before you go (DM59).
- Charge fully before long hikes or rides; GPS uses more battery than everyday wear.
- For connected GPS, keep the app open in the background and your phone with you.
